About Us

Exceptional Caregivers

We select the most qualified caregivers to fit your needs and provide the most consistent, reliable care available. As a care organization, our caregivers are our most important asset: That's why we take the time to recruit, interview, screen and train the best individuals available.

Attitude

We place our greatest emphasis on a caregiver's personality and attitude. We've found that caregivers with an optimistic disposition have a better ability to meet the challenges inherent in providing senior care. We believe the right combination of experience, skills and attitude can overcome even the most demanding of circumstances.

Experience, Skills & Training

The right mixture of hands-on experience, skills and training is a must when matching a caregiver to a given client's requirements. The type of care required for a late-stage Alzheimer's client differs greatly from care needed for a senior with full mental capacities who is recovering from surgery or hospitalization. As part of our recruiting process, we confirm a caregiver's qualifications through a series of reference checks and ongoing hands-on observation.

Background Screening

New caregiver candidates are rigorously interviewed in person to determine their eligibility as a Crossroads Homecare caregiver. If the caregiver's attitude, background, knowledge, training and skills meet our requirements, we proceed with a thorough reference and background check. Many home care organizations do only cursory background screenings when recruiting caregivers. Some perform none at all. Currently, there is no New Jersey law requiring them to do so, but we feel strongly that this is a necessary step in ensuring the best quality caregivers available. We perform a comprehensive five point background check to review a prospective caregiver's background including:

  1. Social Security Number Trace used to match a prospective caregiver's name with their SSN and determine counties in which the prospective caregiver has resided.
  2. County Criminal Search examines criminal records at the county level to uncover any criminal prosecutions within the last seven years.
  3. National Criminal Database Search used as a supplemental search to help ensure there are no criminal histories outside the locations uncovered by the County Criminal Search. This search covers most of the United States.
  4. Motor Vehicle Report performed to uncover motor vehicle-related violations such as Driving Under the influence (DUI), suspended license and accidents, as well as other violations.
  5. Sex Offender Search examines the past of every prospective candidate for any sex-related crimes. While most of these crimes are typically uncovered in the County Criminal Search, we go a step further and search the U.S. Department of Justice Sex Offender Website, New Jersey Department of Justice Megan's Law Website and other historical data.

Only after all of these steps are performed do we extend an offer to become a Crossroads Homecare caregiver.

Our Caregivers Are Employed by Crossroads Homecare

As a protection for our clients, all of our caregivers are employees of Crossroads Homecare and are not merely referred to you through an agency-style relationship. Why?

Bonding & Insurance

As an extra measure of protection, all of our caregivers are insured for coverage related to any liability or theft that may arise related to care giving.
